Discussion on Fire Department physicals. HSC  makes three recommendations.

1.    All new hires receive an NFPA 1582 compliant physical and stay on an NFPA 1582 compliant schedule throughout his/her career.

2.    Continue budget requests for NFPA 1582 compliant physicals for all members.

3.    Annual physicals for all members that at a minimum equal the physicals received in 2008.

C. Brown presented a chart of Fire Department Workers Comp losses from 7-1-06 to 12-31-08.

Any lost time from a workers comp injury must have a doctors slip to return to work.

HSC recommends that all new hires have training on EMS and proper lifting procedures before being assigned to a crew.

HSC will accept the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Uniform Advisory Committee Final Report : Class C Uniform Study March 1, 2006 in regards to the Cumberland Fire Department changing uniforms.
